Milan expected to make January move for Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech

Milan will be back on the market for Hakim Ziyech this January, after already having been interested in the Moroccan last summer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan would like to take Ziyech on loan from Chelsea, with an option to buy for €15 million, active in June. Milan have always kept an eye on Ziyech, who’s been important for Morocco at the World Cup with both a goal and assist. The Rossoneri know he could be useful on the right, a position where the team is lacking some quality. Ziyech could also fill in the role of Trequartista, as summer singing Charles de Ketelaere is struggling early on in his Milan career.

Chelsea were open to the departure Ziyech last summer, but Milan chose to go for De Ketelaere instead. Even after Maldini and Massara signed the young Belgian, Ziyech was still open to reducing his €6 million salary. Milan aren’t willing to offer him more than €4-4.5 per season.

Ziyech’s situation at Chelsea didn’t change and he gets minimum playtime in London. When Milan will accelerate is dependant on the result of Saturday’s Morocco-Portugal game, because Milan also want to meet with the agents of Rafael Leão to discuss a contract extension. The Rossoneri are planning to work on whoever gets knocked out first.
