Milan propose offer for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo but receive negative response

Milan recently proposed a cash plus player offer for Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo.

The Italian recently scored for Roma in the UEFA Conference League final, taking the club to their first European title win in the 21st century. La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Carlo Laudisa has reported that there have been contacts between Roma and Milan recently, which saw the Rossoneri informally propose cash plus Alexis Saelemaekers for Zaniolo.

€25 million was the amount offered and Milan operated through intermediaries, who were trying to help the sign Zaniolo. It is stated that Milan could go upto €30 million in cash for the player. Roma’s first response was ‘no’ and Jose Mourinho is not said to be a fan of Saelemaekers and he is looking at a player with a different profile.

While this informal approach was only a beginning of the move but attempts could get more concrete soon. The ex-Inter youngster is one of Milan’s main objectives for the summer and Juventus have also been linked with the player.
