Milan’s Maldini on Ibrahimovic: “His will is to continue.”

Milan sporting director Paolo Maldini has revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s will is to continue his career at Milan.

Ahead of the Milan derby, Maldini was asked about a host of things and one thing that he was questioned about was the future of Ibrahimovic at the club, as his current deal at the Rossoneri runs out at the end of the campaign.

Maldini told: “First of all there is an open conversation with Zlatan, he is a very independent person and being independent, he knows and does not pretend what is his situation and the possible agreement with Milan.

“If he does not feel like being able to go on he will be the first to say: I’ll stop. Right now his will is to continue, go on. Injuries are limiting him lately, but these are conversations that are made in an open way. There is a very nice relationship with him. Zlatan will never be a burden, but a resource.”

Ibrahimovic has faced multiple injury issues over the last two seasons and that has hampered his game time at the Rossoneri.

He has played 15 times in Serie A in the campaign so far, while scoring eight goals and picking up two assists.
