Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti on Man Utd’s Cristiano Ronaldo: “It is difficult for him to arrive, no negotiations”

Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has stated that while he would like to coach Cristiano Ronaldo, it is difficult for the Portuguese to arrive.

Jorge Mendes is said to be trying his best to make sure that his client plays for a Champions League club and has offered Napoli a chance to sign Ronaldo in a potential swap deal involving Victor Osimhen.

Ahead of Napoli’s Serie A game against Fiorentina on Sunday, Spalletti spoke to reporters at a press conference and he was asked about the possibility of managing CR7 this season. The Italian stated:

“Anyone would like to have the shirts that Cristiano wore. If he had also played in Napoli I would like to have them too. Would I train him willingly? I want to see which coach would give up this chance. It is one for the lifetime. But if we talk about reality then I say that there is no negotiation.

“De Laurentiis has not received offers for Osimhen and we must remain as realistic as possible. There are a few days to go until the end of the market, I see it hard that such a thing could happen. There is nothing concrete at the moment, then we should hear Giuntoli and the market men.”

While speculation has been rife about a potential swap between the two players, Osimhen’s agent has publicly stated that the player wants to play for Napoli and doesn’t want to give up on a spot in the Champions League – something which he worked hard to earn last season.
