OFFICIAL | Malick Thiaw joins Milan from Bundesliga side Schalke

German defender Malick Thiaw has now officially completed a move to Milan from Bundesliga outfit Schalke on a permanent deal.

After failing to secure Trevor Chalobah from Chelsea due to the club’s reluctancy, the Rossoneri shifted their focus towards 21-year-old Thiaw who seems to be a promising defender. According to a recent report from Antonio Vitiello, the profile of the German perfectly suits what Milan were looking for and they even tried to sign him in January last season too.

The defender completed his medicals today morning at Milan before putting pen to paper on his new contract with the Serie A title holders.

According to a report from Gianluca di Marzio, Milan will pay a sum of around €5 million plus €2 million in bonuses to Schalke.

Malick Thiaw joined the Schalke youth ranks in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen before getting promoted to the first team in 2020. He has also won the European U-21 Championship with Germany and recently won the German second tier with Schalke ensuring their promotion back to the Bundesliga.
