Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa closing in on a return for Juventus in October

Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa are closing in on a long-awaited return to their fitness as the pair is yet to make an appearance for Juventus in the 2022/23 season.

According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus fans could see both Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa back in action in the Bianconeri’s Champions League tie against Benfica on October 25.

Chiesa has not played a minute for Juve since sustaining the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the Serie A fixture against Roma in January. The injury forced him to go under the knife. It was initially expected that he would make the return to the pitch in September.

However, with the treatment not giving the response it would’ve needed to make the scheduled comeback, the recent developments indicate that the winger is now closer than ever to re-joining the group. The report suggests that Massimiliano Allegri could include him in the matchday squad for Juve’s Serie A clash against Milan on October 8.

Pogba injured the lateral meniscus of his right knee during Juve’s pre-season in the United States. Multiple reports claimed that the Frenchman could miss the World Cup for France. But Pogba’s recovery is progressing well. As per the report, Allegri cannot wait to get the two talismans back to their full fitness.
