In recent times, Wilfried Gnonto has suddenly broken into the bigger picture for his footballing attributes. Leeds United are now interested in signing the youngster.
According to Italian transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Leeds United are growing confident about signing Wilfried Gnonto from Zürich. The Premier League side is reportedly willing to close a transfer for the 18-year-old by 25th August.
There is competition among the suitors interested in the services of the Italian forward. But Leeds are understandably confident that they could sign the youth sensation for a transfer fee between €4 million and €5 million.
Since moving to Switzerland from Inter, Gnonto has made 69 appearances for Zürich, amassing 12 goals and nine assists across all competition. The player’s current contract at Zürich expires in June 2023. If Leeds manage to sign him, Gnonto could become the second Italian to play in the Premier League this season after West Ham United’s capture of Gianluca Scamacca.
