Roma receive Nicolo Zaniolo’s injury scare ahead of fixtures against Inter and Leicester City

Nicolo Zaniolo picked up an ankle injury, leading to his substitution in the weekend’s encounter against Napoli.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nicolo Zaniolo is likely to miss the game against Inter due to an ankle issue but should be fit for the Europa Conference League semi-final tie against Leicester City.

While playing against Napoli on Monday, Zaniolo was seen twisting his ankle. The player called for medical attention immediately. Taking no risk, Jose Mourinho introduced Felix Afena-Gyan as Zaniolo limped off the field.

Since scoring a brace against Bodo/Glimt in the second leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-final tie, Zaniolo has appeared to be lively with the ball on his feet. Against Napoli, he was one of the most notable runners for Mourinho’s men.

Roma visit Inter on Saturday and will make their trip to England for the first leg of the Europa Conference league semi-final tie against Leicester on the subsequent Thursday.
