Roma closing in on the signing of Lille’s Zeki Celik

Roma are gradually getting closer to completing the signing of Lille’s Zeki Celik, who has a contract with the Ligue 1 club until June 2023.

According to Il Messaggero, Roma have made massive strides in their quest for Zeki Celik. The Giallorossi have been negotiating with their French counterparts for weeks.

And the recent developments regarding the potential deal have seen Jose Mourinho’s side go within the touching distance of Lille’s asking price of around €8.5million for the full-back.

The report understands that Roma have proposed an offer of around €6million to the Ligue 1 side. However, that is reported to be lacking the Lille’s conviction. It is believed that the deal could be closed at €7.5million should both teams show their willingness to meet a halfway consensus.

The story anticipates that the green light from the selling party could arrive within the next few days. In the midfield, Roma have identified Davide Frattesi as their ideal target this summer. An alternative to Frattesi is Houssem Aouar, for whom Tiago Pinto has already made an enquiry. Lyon have made it clear that they want a fee of €20 million to sell the Frenchman.

The Giallorossi could even add one between Felix Afena-Gyan and Cristian Volpato to lower Sassuolo’s valuation for Frattesi. Otherwise, there is interest in Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.
