Talks between Serie A giants Juventus and Memphis Depay stall amidst Tottenham interest

There has been a sudden stagnancy in the talks between Juventus and Dutch winger Memphis Depay for a potential move to Italy amid Tottenham’s interest.

According to Carlo Laudisa from Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutchman, through his representative lawyer Sebastien Ledure, has asked the Bianconeri to slow down their progress for the player as Depay wants to ‘reflect’ on his future before making a move.

Juventus have offered the 28-year-old a two-year contract with €5 million in net and benefits of tax discounts, should he sign for the Bianconeri in the coming weeks.

The update also claims that Barcelona are in advanced talks with the player’s agents to find a resolution quickly as the Catalan club are yet to register their new signings which may only be progressed with the departure of Depay, particularly owing to their current dilapidated financial situation.

With the stalling of talks, Premier League outfit Tottenham have also introduced themselves in the race to sign the winger along with Juventus as Fabio Paratici failed to secure him last winter.
