Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has revealed that the midfielder is currently fully focused on impressing for the Gunners.
Jorginho has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce over the last few days but he has stayed at the Emirates with Arsenal, who picked up a vital win over Manchester United yesterday. The Italian had joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January and had been an important player for them, even though Manchester City won the title.
Jorginho had come on late in the game against United and his agent Santos spoke to TMW today about his future, stating that the midfielder is fully focused on playing for Arsenal and will not join Fenerbahce.
“Jorginho is focused on Arsenal, therefore on the Premier League championship and the Champions League. He will not go to Fenerbahce.”
New Italy boss Luciano Spalletti recently announced his first squad as the Azzurri boss and he didn’t call up Jorginho. Joao Santos stated that Jorginho remains an important part of the side.
“The coach arrived recently, he makes his choices and that’s right. It’s a question of time, because Jorginho is fundamental for the national team.”
The midfielder has previously been linked with a move back to Italy but his current deal runs out in the summer of 2024, but Arsenal have the option to trigger an extension.
