Aston Villa make contact for Inter’s Denzel Dumfries

Premier League side Aston Villa are in contact for Inter’s Denzel Dumfries and Unai Emery would like the Dutchman at the club.

Marco Conterio has reported that after initial interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, the interests of both the clubs has died down. Dumfries has failed to win the trust of the club and he is quite likely to leave the club in the summer, with Villa quite keen on the Dutchman.

Villa want a right-back in the summer, with Matty Cash the only reliable option in that position. Emery has been forced to use Ashley Young at right-back but he wants an upgrade over the former England international and Inter player, with Dumfries seen as a clear target.

Contacts are in progress, with Emery holding Dumfries in high regard to fill the position at right-back. It has been previously reported that Dumfries’ sale will allow Inter some capital profit to sign other players and potentially replace the Dutchman.
