Brighton make offer for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo

Brighton are interested in signing Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and have made an offer to sign the Italian.

The Seagulls’ interest was reported yesterday but Il Tempo have stated (as relayed by Corriere della Sera) today that while Zaniolo prefers to join Tottenham and be coached by Antonio Conte for the first time in his career, Brighton have now put forward a concrete offer for the Italy international.

They are putting forward €25 million to secure Zaniolo’s services but that is well below Roma’s asking price, which is currently set at €35 million to €40 million.

Zaniolo had asked to be excluded from Roma’s squad against Spezia recently and Roma have decided that he will not play again in January or until he gets a move away from the club. Zaniolo felt that he was not in the right mind to play for the club, amidst the transfer rumours and after he was booed by Roma fans in the Coppa Italia game against Genoa.
