Edin Džeko edges close to signing new Inter contract

Inter striker Edin Džeko is now edging close to signing a new deal with the Nerazzurri, with talks regarding a renewal now going in the right direction.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that Džeko has now opened up to the idea of signing a one-year deal, having previously been keen on signing only a two-year contract to stay. This means that he has now stepped closer to staying at the club beyond this season.

He is happy with earning €5 million per season at the club, even though it is a lower salary than what he earns in his current contract. The deal is not done yet but there is great optimism that it will be done soon, even though the striker has offers from two clubs from abroad.

The last word will come from Steven Zhang and the deal will proceed once he gives his go-ahead to the agreement. Džeko has been tempted by a move abroad in the past but he is now keen on staying and he believes that he can still give a lot to the Nerazzurri.
