Jose Mourinho likely to leave Roma in absence of Champions League football

Roma manager Jose Mourinho is quite likely to leave the Giallorossi in the summer if they do not end up playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Roma’s recent 2-1 loss to Cremonese meant that they are now outside the top four once again and this is before they face Juventus in the league next in what is expected to be a huge game for both sides. The gap between the two outfits is currently only nine points, despite Juve’s points deduction.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that if Roma don’t finish inside the top four, it is highly likely that the paths of the club and Mourinho will diverge even though the manager’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024. That is why winning pretty much every game in Serie A from now till the end of the season becomes vital, especially since the top four race is quite stiff.

The likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea have already been linked with Mourinho and they could be without managers in the summer.
