Juventus leading race for Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić

Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly leading the race to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić.

According to a report by Il Messaggero, Juventus have intensified relations with Sergej Milinković-Savić’s agent, Mateja Kezman in recent days to consolidate a transfer for his agent in the upcoming summer window or the next.

The Serbian midfielder’s contract ends in the month of June next year and if the Bianconeri leaves the deal to that end, they could face serious competition from Premier League clubs.

Juventus are willing to pay Milinković-Savić a salary of around €6 million but the price tag remains a problem. Lazio president Claudio Lotito wants a staggering €40 million but knows that he will be forced to turn that down to €30 million.

The transfer fee figures remain concerning for the Turin-based side as they have been in a financial crunch for some time and as they are potentially looking to sign Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi, Massimiliano Allegri’s club will need to reconsider their tactics before initiating anything concrete.

Apart from Juventus, Milan are also thinking about the transfer of Sergej Milinković-Savić but they will need to offload some of their big names to realise the transfer. Arsenal and Newcastle United have been linked with the midfielder but they are yet to come forward for him.
