Juventus look to renew Arthur contract ahead of Fiorentina switch

Juventus and Fiorentina have been discussing a loan deal for Arthur in the last few days, but a contract extension at the Bianconeri might be the key.

Arthur’s agent, Federico Pastorello, will be in Turin today to discuss the 26-year-old’s loan deal to Fiorentina, Gianluca Di Marzio reports. A potential move to Tuscany has been in the works for a couple of days now, but before the move can happen, Juventus will try to renew Arthur’s contract. The Brazilian’s current deal expires in the summer of 2025.

Suprisingly, Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano sees Arthur as a welcome addition to his current midfield, even tough the Brazilian has had a rough year. Arthur went abroad, to Liverpool, but got injured before even playing his first game in England. He never managed to break into Jürgen Klopp’ squad and only featured once for the Reds.

Arthur’s career has been going in the wrong direction for some years now, so Fiorentina could offer him an opportunity to get it back on the rails. Arthur has been preparing for the new season at Juventus, but it is almost a certainty that he will not start the season there.
