Lazio want to sign Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz

Serie A giants Lazio are interested in signing Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz but face some obstacles in a potential move.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Lazio see Mariano as an alternative squad option for Ciro Immobile, who is currently injured. They have faced difficulties in signing Federico Bonazzoli and that is why the option of going after Mariano is rather concrete.

Maurizio Sarri would approve of a move for the player, who earns €5 million per season at Real Madrid. The Spanish side would be willing to let him leave for free because he is out of the club’s plans but Lazio still face two issues. One is related to the player’s wage demands and the second one pertains to liquidity index, which means that a player of a similar wage as Mariano would have to depart the club.

Evaluations are underway at Lazio to make the move possible, as they are working on exits. Bologna have asked for information about Mohamed Fares and he is expected to leave, along with Gonzalo Escalante, who interests a host of Spanish sides and he could return from his loan spell at Cremonese and then be sold permanently.
