Liverpool are interested in the possibility of hiring Brighton and Hove Albion boss Roberto de Zerbi, if Jurgen Klopp leaves the club at the end of the season.
The ex-Sassuolo boss’ Brighton side are above Liverpool in the Premier League table and they occupy a place in the European places for next season. For many, De Zerbi has improved the Seagulls from where he took the side over from Graham Potter earlier in the season.
La Repubblica now state that the Italian is liked a lot by Liverpool and if Klopp does leave the Anfield-based side in the summer, De Zerbi will be the club’s top priority. It is stated that while the relationship between Klopp and the Liverpool higher-ups is strong, there is now a possibility of an exit for the German in the summer.
Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino are other managers that interest Liverpool but De Zerbi is at the top of the list. Reflections are ongoing at Liverpool, with De Zerbi said to be keen on making the next step. It has been previously reported that the Italian has a release clause of €13 million in his Brighton deal.
