Luciano Spalletti terms reason for Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie’s omission from Italy squad

Italy boss Luciano Spalletti faced the press ahead of the national team’s upcoming UEFA Euro qualifiers fixtures and explained the reason behind Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie’s omission from the squad.

Speaking to Sky Italia ahead of Italy’s North Macedonia clash this weekend, Luciano Spalletti was asked the reason why Destiny Udogie wasn’t called up to the squad for the upcoming Euro qualifiers. The former Napoli manager said: “He’s injured”.

The 20-year-old was out of action during the last Premier League matchday as Spurs faced Wolves due to a suspension which he racked up against Chelsea. There wasn’t any official news on the part of the North London-based side on the player’s inuury. However, he passed on a potential injury scare after getting substituted early during Spurs’ clash with Crystal Palace last month.

Juventus’s Manuel Locatelli is also ruled out of the qualifiers with an injury. Meanwhile, left-back Andrea Cambiaso is called up as he will look to make a positive impression over the international break.
