Manchester United progressing in move for Inter’s Andre Onana

It’s no secret that Manchester United have been looking to replace David De Gea this summer. The Spanish shot-stopper endured a difficult season at Old Trafford and the club are wanting to move on and find his replacement. The number one candidate and perfect fit for Erik Ten Hag’s philosophy is Andre Onana, reports Gianluca di Marzio.

Contacts between United and Inter are progressing positively and the Red Devils are expected to make an offer for the player later today. Talks with his agents have been held by United, with Inter demanding €60 million for the goalkeeper.

Ten Hag managed the Cameroonian at Ajax and he has only gotten better in the last few years. Onana is widely heralded as one of the best ball playing goal-keepers in world football, and would represent a completely different style of player to De Gea.

De Gea’s lack of ability with the ball at his feet has undoubtedly stunted United and Ten Hag’s brand of football so far, and he needs to be replaced as an urgent priority.
