Manchester United to more than double André Onana’s salary

Manchester United remain keen on Inter goalkeeper André Onana and they will be ready to more than double his current salary, with a move expected to accelerate this week.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that Erik ten Hag isn’t keen on keeping David de Gea at United and he would only be interested in keeping the Spaniard if the club signs a goalkeeper who is good with the ball at his feet. De Gea’s United deal expires in the next few days and Ten Hag is hoping that United make a formal move for Onana by the end of this week or by early next week, as he is quite keen on reuniting with the Cameroonian.

Onana currently earns €3 million per season and United will be keen on more than doubling that amount, with the Red Devils having already spoken to his agent. The agreement between the two clubs will be vital as United know that Chelsea have almost pulled out of the race and their offer to Inter will depend on how the De Gea situation pans out. If the Spaniard leaves – potentially for Saudi Arabia, United’s offer will be higher.

Inter currently want €50 million to €60 million to let the goalkeeper leave, with United expected to make a move at the weekend or early next week – just like Ten Hag wants.
