Maurizio Sarri seeks guarantees from Lazio to stay at club

Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri is seeking guarantees and assurances from the club to stay at the club beyond this summer.

Il Messaggero (via TMW) state that a lunch meeting between Sarri and Claudio Lotito took place yesterday at the Formello and it took place during a lunch event organised by Ciro Immobile. As things stand, Sarri’s future at the Biancocelesti is uncertain and he wants guarantees from Lotito to make sure that the team improves next season.

As things stand, Lotito wants to wait till the end of the season to make any promises to the Italian, who has made his frustrations clear about the lack of depth and quality in the side. But there is a guarantee that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s sale could hand Lazio some funds to use in the market.

Sarri has some clear ideas about which players to pursue in the transfer market. He wants Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero, Galatasaray’s Lucas Torreira, Sassuolo duo Domenico Berardi and David Frattesi and Benfica’s Rafa Silva. Some other targets he has are Nicolo Rovella, Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski, Chelsea duo Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson Odoi.
