AC Milan star Mike Maignan has, on Monday, provided a brief update on his future with the club.
Shot-stopper Maignan has of course long established himself as a pivotal figure in Milan’s setup, one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Stefano Pioli.
Amid a long stretch of standout displays, though, inevitable speculation has spread in the media, pointing towards interest in his services mounting across the continent.
Maignan’s current terms at San Siro are due to expire in the summer of 2026, with the Rossoneri already understood to be hard at work behind the scenes in a bid to tie their no.1 down for the long term.
Speaking to the media ahead of his side’s upcoming Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain, the French international was therefore asked for the latest on his future.
Maignan, though, was keen to keep his cards close to his chest.
Though he was keen to suggest that he remains happy in Lombardy, the 28-year-old revealed at a press conference today that negotiations over a new contract are yet to begin, with it ‘not the right time’ for as much.
“I like AC Milan. We haven’t started talking about the future, it’s not the right time.“
