AC Milan star Mike Maignan has, on Monday, provided a brief update on his future with the club.
Shot-stopper Maignan has of course long established himself as a pivotal figure in Milanโs setup, one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Stefano Pioli.
Amid a long stretch of standout displays, though, inevitable speculation has spread in the media, pointing towards interest in his services mounting across the continent.
Maignanโs current terms at San Siro are due to expire in the summer of 2026, with the Rossoneri already understood to be hard at work behind the scenes in a bid to tie their no.1 down for the long term.
Speaking to the media ahead of his sideโs upcoming Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain, the French international was therefore asked for the latest on his future.
Maignan, though, was keen to keep his cards close to his chest.
Though he was keen to suggest that he remains happy in Lombardy, the 28-year-old revealed at a press conference today that negotiations over a new contract are yet to begin, with it โnot the right timeโ for as much.
โI like AC Milan. We havenโt started talking about the future, itโs not the right time.โ
