Milan debutant Jan-Carlo Simić shines on debut v Monza

Milan defender Jan-Carlo Simić has shined on his debut against Monza, scoring on his debut in the Serie A.

Milan headed into the game against Monza, knowing that they absolutely needed a win especially after their knockout from the Champions League some days ago. Also, they had to keep up with the likes of Inter and Juve in the title race.

Because of their ongoing defensive crisis in the injuries department, Stefano Pioli had to hand Simic a debut alongside Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjaer. The teenager came on for Tommaso Pobega in the first half, as the Italian picked up an injury and Simic made an impact early, scoring on his debut.

Summer signing Tijjani Reijnders had handed Milan a very early lead and substitute Noah Okafor wrapped things up for the Rossoneri in the second half, sealing a 3-0 win for Pioli’s side.

The win helped Milan cut the gap between themselves and second placed Juve to five points.
