Former Serie A Champions Milan are now inching close to a move for Atletico Madrid and former Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported today that Morata is keen on a move to the Rossoneri and since he has his family living in Italy, he has always been looking towards coming back to Serie A. Even when he signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid, his goal was to secure a move to Italy through a cheap release clause in the deal.
He has informed Milan that he is willing to take a wage cut from what he currently earns at Atleti and Milan could make further savings through Growth Decree rules. The Rossoneri have given signs of the fact that they are open to moving for the Spaniard as there is scope to agree a deal for less than his current release clause of €20 million. There is belief that €12 million could be enough for Morata to leave.
The idea Morata joining Milan is gaining momentum, with the Rossoneri aware of the fact that Juventus could yet move for him. A club from Saudi Arabia is interested in the player, who is not appealed by the idea of leaving Europe.Â
