Milan make contact with Chelsea over January deal for Benoît Badiashile

The transfer team at Milan have made contact with their counterparts at Chelsea, over an audacious winter swoop for a member of the Blues’ backline – Benoît Badiashile.

It is of course common knowledge that the Milan hierarchy are on the lookout for fresh blood at the back with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.

This comes with both Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino having been ruled out long-term, and Simon Kjær continuing to struggle for fitness. Malick Thiaw also picked up a bad hamstring injury against Dortmund yesterday.

A whole host of defenders, in turn, have been tipped as potential arrivals at San Siro. And, as alluded to above, today, a fresh name has been added to the list.

As per a report from TuttomercatoWeb’s Marco Conterio, the Rossoneri have set their sights on the signature of Chelsea star Benoît Badiashile and initial contact has been made.

French international Badiashile has endured a frustrating season to date himself, owing to a lingering hamstring problem dating all the way back to May.

Now back to full fitness and no doubt desperate for game time, though, the former Monaco standout has been tipped to take his talents to Milan on loan following the turn of the year.

It is currently unclear whether Chelsea would be at all open to such a deal, albeit with relations remaining excellent between the two clubs, on the back of the respective transfers of all of Olivier Giroud, Fikayo Tomori, Christian Pulisic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
