Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be fit for Tottenham Champions League tie

There is an expectation that Milan’s veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be fit to face Tottenham in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League later this month.

Corriere della Sera have brought out some details about Ibrahimovic’s fitness, stating that the Swede is impatient and his goal is to return to action on the 10th of February against Torino. He is doing everything possible to make it at that point and at Milanello, there is a feeling of optimism that it might be possible.

His ultimate goal though, is to have enough minutes in his legs to be fit to take on Spurs on the 14th of February in the Champions League. Stefano Pioli is keen to have him back in the side, with the Rossoneri going through a lean period.

His leadership has not been lacking in recent months, even though he hasn’t played. Those close to him suggest that he is very enthusiastic about returning and he is eager to prove himself even at 41. He will return to training soon.
