Napoli boosted as Victor Osimhen trains with squad today

There is good news for Napoli as today, Victor Osimhen trained with the squad and that has been confirmed by the club. He is now fit for the Champions League fixture against Milan, which is scheduled for Tuesday.

This is the first time that the striker has trained regularly since he suffered a minor niggle in his adductor muscle. In order to improve his fitness, Osimhen will make the squad for the next league game against Verona tomorrow and coach Luciano Spalletti has confirmed that today in the press conference.

The Italian said: “He’s in good condition, I had a meeting with the doctors this morning and it felt natural to call him for tomorrow’s game. It’s clear that the goal is to have him at his best for Tuesday’s game but tomorrow he will be on the bench with us.”

Osimhen has scored 25 goals across all competitions this season and he has scored more goals (15) among Serie A players in all competitions in 2023.

He played his last game with Napoli on March 19th, when he scored a brace against Torino. Without the Nigerian, Napoli have struggled to score goals. While they did beat Lecce, they relied on an own goal and have lost twice to Milan and have struggled for goals in both the games against the Rossoneri.
