Napoli interested in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada

Napoli want to exploit the Asian market for signings more and are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada.

La Gazzetta dello Sport today have reported that the Partenopei have been quite impressed by Kim Min-Jae’s performances on and off the pitch and they would want some more players of his work-ethic and discipline in the side. Two names on their shortlist are Mallorca’s Kang In-Lee and Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo. But they are also interested in Kamada, whose contract at Eintracht Frankfurt expires in the summer and contact with his agents has already been made.

Napoli saw him play from up-close in the Champions League ties against the German outfit, with the player having recently rejected a contract offer from Borussia Dortmund. The Japan international is said to be more keen on heading to La Liga but Napoli are waiting in the wings to see if they can snap him up.

But with Kim being linked with a move to Manchester United and his exit beyond Napoli’s control due to a release clause in his deal, the Partenopei are also looking at two Asian defenders to shore up their backline. They are Stuttgart’s Hiroki Ito and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Ko Itakura, who have done well at club level so far.

Having said that, Lens’ Austrian defender Kevin Danso is also of interest to Napoli and contact was made recently for the player.
