Napoli launch €30m bid for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga

Napoli have launched an official bid for Celta Vigo central midfielder Gabri Vega as the Partenopei are in deep search for play-makers within the central park.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Azzurri have submitted an opening bid worth €30m to the La Liga outfits for the 21 year-old. However, Celta Vigo have reportedly rejected the offer as they are keen on having last year’s Serie A champions trigger the Spanish international’s €40m release clause.

Within last year’s campaign, the promising attacking-minded midfielder flourished and maintained a sublime run of form, notching 11 goals and four assists in 36 games-played within the La Liga.

With Tanguy Ndombele having returned to Tottenham following his loan spell in Naples last season, as well as the potential departure of Piotr Zielinski as his contract is set to expire next summer, Napoli are eager to acquire Veiga as they consider him a primary target within the midfield.

Despite the initial offer having been rejected, both clubs are expected to continue negotiation discussions in order to reach an agreement that suits both parties.
