Napoli set to hold talks to extend Piotr Zielinski’s contract

Napoli will soon be locked in talks to extend Piotr Zielinki’s contract at the club, after the midfielder rejected the chance to join Al Ahli in the summer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that the manner in which Zielinski rejected Al Ahli was quite resounding and it was almost his way of letting Napoli know that he wants to extend his stay at the club. Aurelio de Laurentiis was left happy with the player’s choice.

Before an approach from the Middle East had arrived and Lazio had initiated talks to sign the Pole, contract talks between the Partenopei and Zielinski’s entourage had temporarily stopped. Now, they will soon resume.

Zielinski is now considering the possibility of earning less in his contract, especially since he would be free to speak to other clubs from the 1st of February onwards. And Napoli too would not want to see him leave on a free transfer next summer and they want to tie him down to a new deal on slightly lesser terms.
