Napoli’s Victor Osimhen escapes fine after meeting with Rudi Garcia

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has escaped a fine from the club after having a confrontation with manager Rudi Garcia yesterday.

When Osimhen had gone off in the draw against Bologna, he had argued with Garcia about why he should’ve kept him on and the fact that the Frenchman should’ve played two upfront when the side needed a goal. Napoli were considering punishing the player after a meeting with him today.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that in the morning today, Osimhen made it clear to the Napoli squad that he didn’t mean to disrespect Garcia and the manager was present during the meeting. He stated that against Bologna, he was desperate to win the game and wanted to make sure that he redeems himself after missing a penalty.

Napoli believe that the chapter has now closed and there is no need to fine Osimhen for his reaction and there is no problem between the 24-year-old and Garcia.
