Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini is set to stay at the club next season despite speculation linking him with an exit.
It was previously reported that Gasperini will seek an exit from the club this summer due to a detereorating relationship with the owners. Napoli were linked with him in recent days, as they hunt for a Luciano Spalletti replacement.
Atalanta have now confirmed that Gasperini will now stay at La Dea and he made the decision after having a decisive meeting with Luca Percassi and the club’s owners. An agreement has been reached between all parties to take the project forward, despite Gasperini’s links with other clubs.
La Dea missed out on Champions League football this season but have already qualified for the Europa League for next season, having finished fifth in the Serie A – only six points behind fourth-placed Milan. Gasperini has already managed La Dea in the Champions League.
