Roma are interested in the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.
Icardi was in fine form for Gala, as the 30-year-old scored 22 times and racked up seven assists in 24 league games for the club. His form hasn’t gone unnoticed in Italy, apparently.
Corriere della Sera state that Roma are interested in the ex-Inter star, with the Giallorossi looking to sign a striker this summer after the serious ACL injury sustained by Tammy Abraham in the last game of the season against Spezia. Club sporting director Tiago Pinto likes Icardi and his profile and he could take advantage of Roma’s excellent relationship with Paris Saint-Germain.
Roma signed Gini Wijnaldum on a loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, which again suggests that the relations between the two sides are good, to say the least. As things stand, Roma need to earn some money from sales to avoid FFP issues this summer and Roger Ibañez could be sold for just that.
