OFFICIAL | Manchester United complete the signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta

Manchester United have finalised the transfer of Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund for a fee of around €75million with add ons.

The 20 year old has agreed a five year contract with the Old Trafford outfit, drawing an end to a summer long chase for the forward from United.

Hojlund managed eleven goals last term for Atalanta in his solitary season for the club and impressed with his willingness to lead the line solo and his intense pressing, something that will come massively in use for Erik Ten Hag’s style of play.

Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo midway through last season, United have lacked a real true striker as loan replacement Wout Weghorst failed to cut the mustard and the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony did their best work out wide.

As for Atalanta, they knew that a deal was likely so moved swiftly to bring in El Bilal Toure from Spanish side Almeria to try and fill the void that has now been left by Hojlund.

Hojlund is expected to take the number nine shirt.
