OFFICIAL | Napoli hire Rudi Garcia as manager

Napoli have appointed Frenchman Rudi Garcia as their new manager, as he replaces Luciano Spalletti.

Spalletti left the club after their Scudetto success amidst disagreements with Aurelio de Laurentiis and Garcia was one of the candidates to get the role.

Now, out of nowhere, Napoli have announced that Garcia is their new manager and he joins weeks after he left Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr after their disappointing performances in the league.

The Frenchman had managed in Serie A during his time at Roma and also took Lyon to the semi-finals of the Champions League three seasons ago. He was once linked with a move to Manchester United not too long ago as well.

Napoli had faced disappointment in their talks for the likes of Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Christophe Galtier. Thiago Motta and Vincenzo Italiano also hadn’t agreed to join the club, who sealed their third Scudetto recently. But Garcia’s appointment has come rather out of the blue.
