Paul Pogba’s agent on positive doping test: “Pogba never wanted to break the rules”

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been temporarily suspended after his doping test returned positive and his agent Rafaela Pimenta has spoken about the case.

Pogba’s test was taken after Juve’s Serie A clash against Udinese and he has now been suspended for the time being and that has been confirmed by the Bianconeri. It remains to be seen when the Frenchman will return but the news came as a surprise to the player, it has been reported.

Pogba’s agent Pimenta has spoken up about the case, stating that Pogba never wanted to break the rules and the wait for the counter analysis is on.

Pimenta said, as reported by Simon Stone: “We are waiting for the counter analyzes and until then we can’t say anything. The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules.”

Pogba will have to prove that the positive test isn’t true using the counter-analysis but if that fails, he could be at risk of a much bigger ban. The maximum amount of ban that can be imposed on him could extend up till four years.
