Rasmus Højlund sale to Manchester United to break records for Atalanta

Manchester United are set to land Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta, who are set to pocket a huge fee from the Red Devils.

Højlund had arrived at La Dea from Sturm Graz last summer for a fee of only €17 million and only about 12 months and nine Serie A goals onwards, La Dea could more than just triple what they earned from the signing of the Dane as United will pay as much as €85 million for him.

As a result, the sale of the 20-year-old will be the most expensive sale in La Dea history and it will also be the biggest capital gain they make in their entire history. The previous record sale was that of Cristian Romero, who had joined Tottenham after arriving on a permanent basis from Juventus.

La Dea are usually known to be big sellers in the Serie A, but the fee in question in this case is massive because of how quickly Rasmus Højlund is leaving La Dea.

More than that, the total fee for the 20-year-old will eclipse what Real Madrid paid for Zinedine Zidane and there is a chance that it also eclipses what Juventus paid for then-Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic about 18 months ago. It could become the fourth-most expensive sale in Serie A history and the 20-year-old would only be behind Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Gonzalo Higuain.
