Saudi Arabia make approach for Luciano Spalletti

Saudi Arabia have now come forward in an attempt to sign former Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti.

The Italian left Napoli after winning the Scudetto for only the third time in the club’s history and has now been replaced by Rudi Garcia.

Marco Conterio has reported that an ‘important offer’ has arrived from Saudi Arabia for Spalletti, who didn’t have his contract terminated at Napoli and he only went on a sabbatical for a season. An offer of €15 million to €20 million has been put forward to the ex-Napoli and ex-Roma boss but to move, Spalletti would have to speak to Aurelio de Laurentiis to get his Napoli deal terminated.

While Spalletti has previously confirmed that he is taking a one-year sabbatical, Saudi Arabia are trying to make sure that he comes out of that sabbatical. Max Allegri had also received advances from Saudi but the Juventus boss has rejected those approaches.
