Stefano Pioli’s Milan job not at risk despite poor league form

Milan boss Stefano Pioli’s job is not at risk despite the club’s poor league form this season.

After Pioli’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by Lecce, the Italian stated that he is falling out of explanations for the lack of wins and stated that it couldn’t just be down to bad luck. Milan are winless in four games in the Serie A and their last win came because of Olivier Giroud’s late heroics between the sticks.

Luca Bianchin has reported that Pioli’s job isn’t at risk and the club believe that the multiple injuries in the squad are a bigger concern than the manager’s position. Club CEO Giorgio Furlani and club technical director Geoffrey Moncada will be in Milan in the next few days and they will hold some discussions with Pioli about how to change the current situation.

Milan recently got back to winning ways in the Champions League, picking up a win over Paris Saint-Germain and thereby scoring their first goals in the competition.
