The numbers behind Milan’s struggles following Lazio hammering

Milan took a painful 4-0 loss against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico but the defeat might only be the tip of the iceberg for the Rossoneri, whose form has been poor in recent weeks.

Stefano Pioli’s side have failed to win even once in their last five games in all competitions, as they had lost to Lecce in the previous league game, had lost to Torino in the Coppa Italia and had lost 3-0 to Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana.

In the last three games, Ciprian Tatarusanu has conceded atleast two goals in the first half of games and the loss to Lazio was the first time that they have let in four goals since their 4-3 loss to Fiorentina last season. And they haven’t lost by a four goal margin or more since their 5-0 loss to Atalanta in 2019 during Pioli’s early days at the club.

They have let in 12 goals during this poor period and Lazio are now only one point behind them, with Napoli 12 points clear at the top.
