Tottenham interested in Lazio’s Maurizio Sarri

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the possibility of hiring Maurizio Sarri as a replacement for Antonio Conte.

The ex-Inter boss is expected to step down from his role at Tottenham in the summer and there has been talk about the London club having already made contact for Mauricio Pochettino.

Il Messaggero claim today that Spurs are also interested in hiring Sarri, with the club looking at around potential replacements for Conte already. Not just Spurs, but other clubs have also tested the waters for Sarri, whose relationship with Igli Tare has not been great over the last few weeks.

West Ham and Everton are also keeping tabs on him, with Atletico Madrid also one of the interested parties. Sarri knows about interest from clubs but as of now, his priority remains Lazio and he wants to complete the three-year project that he has undertaken. But there is no shortage of issues that he is facing in the transfer market, something that Lotito is yet to resolve despite a meeting at Formello yesterday.

He could assess his situation six months later, because of the issues in the market and he wants Lazio to pay heed to his demands in the market. He has a lot of respect for Lotito but a less than balanced relationship with Tare could prove decisive.
