Tottenham have now begun the process of bringing Mauricio Pochettino back to the club once Antonio Conte departs.
Reports earlier today had suggested that Conte is set to depart the Lilywhites at the end of the season. Marco Conterio has now stated that Spurs are already preparing for life after the Italian and are taking some concrete steps.
While Thomas Tuchel is one of the candidates to replace Conte, Spurs have already opened direct talks to bring Pochettino back to the club in the summer once Conte departs.
In a recent interview, Conte had admitted that he is considering his future after having lost close friends such as Sinisa Mihajlovic, Gianluca Vialli and Gian Piero Ventrone. Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League table, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United and they were once at the top of the table under Conte early in the season.
In the Champions League, they take on Milan in the Round of 16.
