Brahim Díaz opens up on love for Milan after Real Madrid win: “I will forever follow them”

Real Madrid star Brahim Díaz provided an insight into his ongoing love affair with Serie A giants AC Milan, late on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Brahim has of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines across Europe over the course of the last few hours.

This comes after the Spaniard proved himself the hero en route to Real Madrid’s Champions League Last-16 first leg downing of RB Leipzig.

Handed a starting berth in place of the sidelined Jude Bellingham, Brahim netted the game’s only goal, courtesy of a sumptuous run and finish early in the 2nd-half:

And yet, as alluded to above, post-match, it was another of the continent’s historical greats who featured prominently in Brahim’s latest media exchange.

Asked if he is currently enjoying the best moment of his career, the Málaga native made use of the opportunity to highlight his lasting affection for Milan, with whom he spent the three seasons prior to this:

“Yes, I feel well, but I was happy at Milan, too, and I will forever be grateful to them,” Brahim began, as cited by Sky Sport Italia (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“I love everyone at the club because I spent three amazing years in Milan, and I am happy here, too.“

Drawn further on whether he made contact with ex-Rossoneri teammate Theo Hernandez after the Frenchman’s winning goal against Napoli at the weekend, Brahim humourously continued:

“Of course, I did. I talk more often to him than to my family or my girlfriend!”

Finally, asked if he still watches Milan’s outings, the 24-year-old assured:

“Sure. I always follow them and will forever do it.”
