Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis to appeal Juventus’ exclusion from Club World Cup

Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis will soon appeal to exclude Juventus from the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

In a chat with Financial Times yesterday, De Laurentiis had stated that Juve shouldn’t be allowed to play in the Club World Cup as a priority because the Bianconeri did not take part in any European competition this season due to a ban as a result of financial manipulation.

Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via CM) state that De Laurentiis will not stop with mere statements. He is having a pool of lawyers work prepare official documentation that will be presented to FIFA as an appeal to exclude Juve from the Club World Cup because of potentially similar reasoning that he presented in the interview.

There is a possibility of Napoli not qualifying because of Juventus’ presence and the decision to lodge an appeal against the Old Lady has already been made by the Partenopei CEO.
