Nehuen Perez inching closer to Napoli move as Udinese find alternative defender

The transfer of Argentinian defender Nehuen Perez to Napoli is getting closer to materializing as Udinese have identified an ideal alternative defender to fill the void in the back-line.

TuttoMercatoWeb reports, via CalcioNapoli1926, that the Zebrette have locked their sites on Salernitana’s 23 year-old Italian defender Matteo Lovato as a primary candidate to replace the 21 year-old rising star, whom is on the verge of completing his switch to the Partenopei.

As it stands, Perez is set to travel to Naples this week in order to undergo is medicals and finalize his €18m transfer move to last year’s Serie A champions as he has reached an agreement with the club regarding a five-year deal, which would run until the summer of 2029.

In the event that Udinese are unable to secure the acquisition of Lovato, the Zebrette will shift their focus on Napoli defender Leo Ostigard, as his future with the Partenopei is overcast with a great deal of uncertainty.
