Serie A side Atalanta have seen midfielder Ederson get linked with a host of clubs across the last two years. Manchester United have previously pursued a move for him and they are still in the picture to sign him.
Alfredo Pedulla has reported that the Red Devils first came forward for the Brazil international in late 2024. La Dea responded with a demand of โฌ50 million and they seemed hesitant on letting the player depart.
Since then, there have been several developments. The playerโs current deal in Bergamo runs out in 2027 and there are no signs of a renewal.
Atlรฉtico Madrid had made a strong push for Ederson in January, wanting to get ahead of competition ahead of the summer transfer window. The Spanish side have a full agreement with Edersonโs entourage but are offering Atalanta โฌ30 million plus potential bonuses. The Bergamo clubโs asking price is โฌ7-8 million higher.ย
This stand-off between the two clubs can bring Manchester United back in the picture. They can take advantage of the scenario and due to their need for a midfielder signing, they can make a push for Ederson in the summer.
As promising as this sounds, this feels like an attempt to warn Atletico about possibly missing out on their key target. Using Manchester Unitedโs name feels convenient, considering their past interest.
