Max Allegri could have two games to save Napoli job

Serie A side Napoli find themselves in a difficult situation early in the campaign, having lost two games in a row in all competitions. But Max Allegriโ€™s failure to beat struggling Venezia has now piled on the pressure.

La Gazzetta dello Sport โ€“ via Calciomercato, report that even Napoli CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis was left confused with some of the selections in Venice. He feels Allegriโ€™s position is now at risk, with De Laurentiis concerned with the ongoing chaos.

That is why the next two games could decide Napoliโ€™s short-term future and could even lead to Allegriโ€™s exit. The Partenopei take on Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League next, followed by a difficult tie against Roma.

In the meantime, possible replacements have also emerged and one happens to be ex-Tottenham and Juventus manager Igor Tudor. A shocking name happens to be that of Vincenzo Italiano, who recently left his post at the Turkish national team.

Squad needs bolstering

While the Napoli squad isnโ€™t perfect and has obvious holes after a disappointing window, Allegri hasnโ€™t helped himself. But whoever the next manager is will have to deal with a squad which is imperfect and will have a team that will rely a lot on overperformance.
