Arsenal gradually shifting their focus from Inter striker

Inter are determined to keep hold of Lautaro Martinez in the summer transfer window, with Arsenal reportedly shifting their focus towards other transfer targets.

According to a report from BBC, Inter are not interested in selling Martinez this summer as Arsenal have started looking at alternatives ahead of the summer transfer market. Mikel Arteta is believed to have been a keen admirer of the Argentine striker for a long time.

And with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joining Barcelona in the winter transfer window, the London-based side is looking for immediate reinforcements in the forward department. As reported previously, Lautaro Martinez is happy with his life in Italy and is unwilling to move on to pastures new this summer.

His agent recently opined,

“Lautaro is thinking of Inter, of giving joy to the Nerazzurri people. He wants to win another Scudetto and work towards the World Cup in Qatar. We are not thinking of a transfer, he is at Inter, he is happy, the city is wonderful.”

In the 2021/22 season, the 24-year-old Argentine has scored 23 goals from 45 appearances for the Nerazzurri across all competitions. Martinez’s current contract at Inter runs until June 2026.
